All systems go for PRL Group to take over Dajarra mine
The Christmas Island company is now in charge of the beleaguered Ardmore mine in the North West.

Federal Resources Minister Madeleine King last week joined PRL Global executives on site in Dajarra as the company marked the official completion of its acquisition of the Ardmore phosphate mine.
PRL said mine remobilisation work had been underway since early July and would now ramp up, having achieved required approvals to restart operations.
The Ardmore mine went into care and maintenance in March after John Park and Joanne Dunn of FTI Consulting were appointed as voluntary administrators of mine owner Centrex and its subsidiary Agriflex.
The PRL Global board last week announced that the transaction to acquire the shares in Centrex and Agriflex (subject to a Deed of Company Arrangement) came into effect on September 10.
It described the newly acquired Ardmore phosphate mine as a significant and strategic asset, aligned directly with the group’s core assets and core businesses in mining and marketing phosphate.
Ms King was joined on site by PRL managing director Lai Ah Hong, chief executive officer Nick Gan, chief financial officer Adrian Gurgone and chief operating officer Jim Cooper to mark the occasion.
In a speech at the Meeting of the Mines in Cloncurry, Ms King highlighted the opportunity PRL Global’s investment brought for the Dajarra, Mount Isa, and Cloncurry areas.
She described PRL as a great community-focused resources company from Christmas Island that was investing in Dajarra and bringing that all-important community focus with them.
PRL said it was on track to deliver the first shipment to customers from the restarted operation later in 2025.
