Australia's most remote golf series tees off this Saturday with golfing nomads descending on Birdsville for a chance at a $10,000 hole-in-one.

The Outback Queensland Masters will see golfers from across the country gather at Queensland’s most remote and unique golf courses.

The event is staged across six locations in the Outback, starting in Birdsville before travelling 1600 kilometres to the towns of Boulia, Winton, Barcaldine, Charleville and finishing in Quilpie.

Birdsville Dunes Golf Club president Nell Brook said the club was looking forward to welcoming participants and friends to Birdsville for the first of six events.

“The golf course, meandering through the sandhills, is challenging but fair. Memories will be made, emotions tested, and lasting friendships forged,” she said.

Golfers and the community will have their chance to have a crack in the event’s Big Red Hole-In-One Challenge on Friday, teeing off from the top of the iconic Big Red Sand Dune as a friendly warm-up before official tee off on Saturday, to support the Birdsville Dunes Golf Club.
