Hospital workers 'shaken' after massive Friday night brawl
Police were called to the Mount Isa Hospital on Friday night after a major incident.

Police say more charges may be laid after a public brawl involving 30 people broke out at the Mount Isa Hospital car park on Friday night.
Police said three Mount Isa women, aged 19, 22 and 37, were charged with commit public nuisance after the fight, which began just after 7.30pm.
Police said the people involved were associated with each other and were walking towards Yallambie along Camooweal Street when the altercation began on hospital grounds.
North West Weekly understands the hospital initiated its lockdown security procedures and a number of police vehicles were called to the scene.
“Investigations are ongoing, and further charges may be laid,” a police spokesperson said.
North West Hospital and Health Service CEO Sean Birgan said he was unable to comment further due to the ongoing police investigation.
“We can confirm that some of our staff were understandably shaken by the event,” he said.
“Support is being provided to those affected, and we are actively cooperating with the QPS to assist with their enquiries.”
The public brawl follows an incident two days earlier on May 7 inside Mount Isa Kmart.
A spokesperson for Mount Isa Village said centre security managed the situation until local police arrived.
The spokesperson said no security or centre staff were injured.
“We understand community concerns about anti-social behaviour,” the spokesperson said.
“The centre has security personnel onsite from open to close each day and maintains a strong relationship with local police, who conduct regular visits.”
In the past week, there have also been unconfirmed reports of stabbings in Mount Isa, as well as youths roaming the streets while carrying knives.
