Major gong for home-grown podiatrist
Angela Holland says Mount Isa will always hold a special place in her heart.

Mount Isa will always hold a special place in the heart of Angela Holland, which is why she was quick to answer the call when the city was in need of a podiatrist.
“I was born and bred in Mount Isa and did all of my schooling there,” said Ms Holland, the owner of Advance Foot Clinic, which has five locations across Queensland.
“It was in 2009 that somebody reached out to us through the Podiatry Association and they asked us whether we knew of a podiatrist (who might be willing to set up in Mount Isa).
“Obviously, I have the connection to Mount Isa, so that’s when I decided to make the decision.
“Podiatrists are as rare as hens teeth and while there have been times where it has been tough to get someone, I wanted to make sure that I continued to service Mount Isa.”
Ms Holland was speaking after Advance Foot Clinic was named the national winner in the Health Improvement Services category at the 2025 Australian Small Business Champion Awards.
The clinic stood out among more than 5500 small businesses from across the country, with only 1423 finalists selected across 106 different categories.
The winners were announced at a gala event, where Ms Holland proudly accepted the award alongside her team.
“Winning this award is a huge honour. It reflects the dedication of our entire team and the trust our patients place in us every day,” she said.
“We’ve always aimed to deliver podiatry with heart – high quality, innovative, and personalised care for everyone who walks through our doors.”
Known for staying at the forefront of podiatric technology, Advance Foot Clinic offers a range of modern treatments.
Ms Hollan’s leadership style is hands-on and focused on continuous learning.
This mindset has helped create a collaborative and passionate workplace culture that prioritises patient outcomes above all.
“Innovation is important, but it has to be backed by genuine care,” she said.
“That’s the balance we aim for – and it’s what helps us stand out in such a competitive industry.”
Advance Foot Clinic continues to welcome patients with all types of foot and lower limb concerns.
“Mount Isa locals can take pride in knowing world-class podiatric care is available right in their own backyard,” Ms Holland said.
