Boom sprinter Revolt will return to Buchanan Park this afternoon for his first race in open company.

Boom horse Revolt will lead the way for Mount Isa Race Club president Jay Morris at Thursday’s TAB meeting at Buchanan Park, with the trainer expected to have a strong hand.

Morris will saddle up four runners across three races as he looks to improve his already impressive strike rate on home turf.

All eyes will be on Revolt as he looks to keep his unbeaten record since arriving in Mount Isa.

The four-year-old gelding will likely be the favourite, although does have to make the step up in grade to open company.

Tom Orr has retained the ride on Revolt and he’ll look to lead from go to whoa on the speedster over 1200m.

Providing the competition will be veteran sprinter Han Dynasty, who has been lumped with 68.5kg, although he will carry 3kg less with the claim of Nick Palmer.

Battle of the Bush runner Mr Metrics is also making his return to the track after an unlucky run in the big smoke.

Morris has two runners in the much-anticipated Class 6 Plate (1200m), with Super Story and Benevento to duke it out in what should be a difficult race.

His other runner today is Midori Forest, a maiden having his first start in the North West.

The former NSW galloper was purchased by Steve Clauson and Morris’ wife Tamara and is also expected to be well in the market.

The first race of Thursday’s seven race program will be at 12.42pm.
