Mount Isa boxers shine ahead of local fight night
Brothers in Arms Boxing picked up four goal medals in Townsville on Saturday.

Mount Isa boxers will head into Friday night's hometown fight night with form under their belts after top performances in Townsville on Saturday.
The Brothers in Arms Boxing club picked up four gold medals and two silvers at the Sunstate Amateur Boxing League's state titles at Ignatius Park College.
Taiarn Yasserie took his record to 10 wins from 12 bouts with gold in the 57-60kg division, and was also crowned junior fighter of the tournament.
Other golds went to Nilaajah Bennett (44kg schoolboys), Rashard Radcliffe (51kg schoolboys) and Lincoln Peterson (81kg junior).
Peterson also picked up a silver after stepping up to fight in the 86kg junior division.
The other silver medal winner was Barling Tokawa (60-63.5kg senior).
Elated co-coach Bob Burow, who trains the young men with Wade Remington out of a shed off Duchess Road, said the scene was set perfectly for Friday night's boxing event at the Mount Isa Rugby Union grounds.
"A few will back up but not all will," he said.
"We're flying a bloke up from Brisbane to take on Taiarn (Yasserie).
"He's got a similar record and they reckon he's the next big thing down there, so that will be a good match-up."
Burow said the card was still being finalised but expected there to be about a dozen fights on Friday, with gates opening at 5.30pm for a 6.45pm opening match-up.
"I saw the Mount Isa Spring Cup was on Saturday so that's why we are having it on a Friday night," the coach said.
"We've already sold 15 VIP tables, which is a great sign. I think we had about 600 or 700 people there for our first fight night so we're expecting similar numbers.
"(Former Broncos legend) Justin Hodges will be there as part of his First Nations Sports Academy, which will be great."
Entry is $30 for adults and $15 for kids aged 7-17 at the MIRU grounds off Alma Street.
It's free entry for children aged 6 and younger.
