Police finally arrest Mount Isa graffiti vandal
The man who allegedly defaced the CBD has been caught, three months after the act.

It took three months, but Mount Isa police have caught one of the city’s most notorious graffiti artists.
A 33-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences following an investigation into a series of alleged graffiti incidents in Mount Isa’s central business district in March.
It is alleged that between 15 and 16 March 2025, he spray-painted the phrase “GOV FORCES AIDS” across multiple locations, causing damage to approximately 14 commercial premises.
Last week, police executed a search warrant at a Mount Isa residence where two men were located.
Items allegedly linked to the graffiti were seized, including spray paint cans and clothing.
Drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cannabis were also located.
The 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with 19 counts of wilful damage by graffiti, five drug-related offences, and one count of possessing a graffiti implement.
He was granted bail and is due to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on Monday next week. A 37-year-old man was referred for drug diversion.
Police thanked the community for their assistance during the investigation. Anyone with further information is encouraged to contact police.
