Townies came back from a three-try deficit to win 44-30.

A hat-trick from Lance Cope was not enough for Wanderers as the Devils were overrun by a fitter and better-resourced Town side on Sunday afternoon.

Wanderers scored the first three tries of the game, but were unable to hold off the Townies surge, with the Lions winning 44-30.

Town now holds a 2-0 lead over Wanderers in the two-team rugby league competition.

Both sides will play each other seven times before the grand final at Alec Inch Oval on Saturday, June 21.

Wanderers and Town will do battle again this Saturday under lights, with another close contest expected.
