Can anyone stop the Buffs this season?

That’s the question on the minds of local Aussie Rules fans after the men in blue and white proved too good for Lake Nash in Saturday’s major semi-final.

Undefeated this year, the Buffs continued on their merry way with a barnstorming six-goal win over the Bats.

The 9.10 (64) to 4.4 (28) victory means the Buffs are into the AFL Mount Isa grand final.

Lake Nash, which finished in second place, gets another chance and will play the Tigers this Saturday to see who plays Buffs in the big dance.

The Tigers proved too good in the minor semi-final, beating the undermanned Rhinos 15.22 (112) to 3.7 (25).

After a slow start to the season, the Tigers could be the sleeping giants of the local competition.

They have beaten the Bats and pushed the Buffs as the season has dragged on.

Should they manage to get over Lake Nash in Saturday’s preliminary final, it would set up an exciting grand final between two old rivals.

This Saturday’s preliminary final will start at 2.30pm.

The grand final will be played at the same time the following week.
